I’m part of this little place on the internet I like to call ______. I would call it a little corner of the internet, but i don’t think we’re that important to anyone besides ourselves.
I guess it all started in early December when a couple of kids in the world had too much empty internet and needed something to do with it. Like a family would do with an empty feild, or a kid might do with a vacant tree, they did what anyone would do - they built a home. It started out as the humblest of homes, many not expecting it to be anything for very long. A house, a home, a hotel, or otherwise, it seemed like a fleeting joke that would be funny one second, and boring the next day. Yet, its members had a vision of sorts.
Over the next few days and weeks, and eventually months, it began to grow, almost literally, like every good home does, into a place a select few can come back to after a hard days work, and become instantly at ease with, unwind with, and yes, even disagree with, from time to time. I suppose it isn’t the actual place that these kids come home to, it’s the people - in that respect, it didn’t change much.
Of course, _____ has had it’s share of problems from the very start, it was something that was never meant to be like that quiet (or normal) little house on some hillside, and to be honest, I’m not sure that even exists on the wonderful world of the internet. Whenever people congregate, there will always be two things, in my eyes - lovin’ and hatin’. _____ is no different and has no shortage of latter, I don’t think, but it wasn’t and hasn’t been enough to make the foundation crack fall in, yet, probably because it has no shortage of the former either.
I can say now, without any hesitation, that I am happy to be apart of the little place that started out on a whim a little over six months ago, with just two crazy kids with no home who wanted to turn a bit of bleakness into something that provided a host of people a quirky little home with an open door.
